Charge your electric car at home in East Lothian, even without a driveway

East Lothian, a scenic area just east of Edinburgh in Scotland, is increasingly adapting to the needs of electric vehicle (EV) owners by expanding public charging options and promoting home EV charging solutions.

For residents in more suburban and rural parts of the county, such as North Berwick, Haddington, and Dunbar, where homes often come with driveways or garages, EV charger installation is both a convenient and cost-effective option. However, in the more densely populated or urban areas of East Lothian, such as Musselburgh and Prestonpans, many homes may lack driveways or off-street parking, making home charging more challenging.

Our cross-pavement channel allows residents to install a cable gully into the pavement outside their home and easily charge on the street without causing hazards, and you can save around £4,000 per year compared to using public charging.

East Lothian Council is known for being an innovator and has trialled different cross-pavement products - the first to go in the ground was Kerbo Charge in September 2024. Installations have been completed at three sites in total and the council is now backing residents with grants and licences to make cross-pavement charging legal and safe

Apply today, and you could be charging your EV on your doorstep in just a few weeks.
