How it works

Using a public charger for a single charge can be around £25 more expensive than at home (source: Zap Map), meaning many people are taking risks and having to find alternative solutions when they don’t have a driveway.

These photos show how our solution makes charging easy for residents with street parking.

Simple.

Residents plug into their home charger, feed the EV cable through the cross-pavement channel and plug into their vehicle on-street.

Safe.

The channel is completely flush which ensures there are no trip hazards for pedestrians using the footpath. It’s heel-safe too!

Secure.

Insert your cable and the specially designed lid snaps down behind just like a zip.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

  • Our duct takes the Type 2 cable, which is the standard cable for all UK electric cars.

  • Most charging cables are long enough to reach either one space up or one space down from directly outside your house. Still taken? We find most residents just wait until the space becomes free and then move their car over.

  • We can install in to bitumen, paving stones, and brick surfaces.

  • Although the channel is strong enough to withstand the pressure of any UK vehicle, we do not install across roads because it’s not entirely safe for you to be positioned in the roadway while you insert and remove your charging cable.

  • It is possible but not recommended - it involves ground excavation and laying of a concrete base which is often undesirable due to the permanent removal of green space.

  • Yes, we can provide both the duct and the wall mounted charging unit, or just the duct.
