What if someone is parked outside my house?
Most charging cables are long enough to reach either one space up or one space down from directly outside your house. Those three spaces still taken? We find most residents just wait until the space becomes free and then move their car over, as on average most drivers only have to charge twice per week.
What pavement surfaces can you install into?
We can install in to asphalt (tarmac), paving stones, and brick surfaces.
What cable does Kerbo Charge take?
Our duct takes any cable up to 20mm diameter, including standard EV charging cables.
Does this include a charger?
No, you’ll need to organise that separately - please check out recommended chargers here.
How do I use the Kerbo Charge channel?
You lift the lid at one end, insert your charging cable in sections and the lid closes up behind like a zip. When you have finished charging you can pull your cable out, and again it closes up automatically behind so that you have no way of accidentally leaving it open.
How strong is the Kerbo Charge duct?
Most of the unit is made from rigid PVC (the same material used by Thames Water for their water meter utility covers that you may have seen in the pavement) and is strong enough to withstand the pressure of a high heel and also a vehicle driving over it. It was tested by BSI to BS EN1433 and has a UK CA and European CE safety certificate.
Do you provide a guarantee?
Yes we provide a 10 year no quibble product guarantee and 3 year labour guarantee. If any issues emerge the installer will visit the install site to inspect and make any necessary repairs.
Who is responsible for maintenance?
You’re responsible for cleaning out the channel from time to time.
Your installation comes with a two year labour warranty. After this time, West Berkshire Council is responsible for any repairs to the surrounding adhesive.
What’s the life expectancy of the product?
The Kerbo Charge channel has a life expectancy of over 25 years, and the hinge mechanism is rated to open and close at least 25 million times.
Can you install across roadways?
Although the channel is strong enough to withstand the pressure of any UK vehicle, we do not install across roads because it’s not entirely safe for users to be stood in the roadway while you insert and remove your charging cable.
